Beginning in the sixth grade, all students at St. Andrew’s
are invited to be part of our Volleyball Program. Volleyball practice begins in
the middle of August and the season ends in October.
“Many of our students are interested in playing volleyball,”
says SAES Athletic Director Rance Barnett. “We make sure that there is an
opportunity for everyone who wants to be part of our team. There are years that
we may have three or four different groups playing so we can accommodate every
St. Andrew’s is a member of the West Texas Christian
Athletics Association – a league that currently consists of ten teams located
in Amarillo, Plainview and Lubbock. In addition, SAES often competes with other
public schools in Amarillo and the Panhandle area.
In past years, several of our volleyball teams have been
named WTCAA champions. We took home the championship in volleyball in 2011,
2015, and 2016. We welcome volleyball players of all levels and work with each
individual whether they be a beginner or an advanced player.
Many of our students have gone on the play volleyball at
Tascosa and Amarillo High Schools.
